Richard A. Lowe, 77, Lewistown went home to meet his Lord at 5 p.m. Wednesday March 17, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born July 4, 1943 in Canton the son of Allen and Wilma (Burgett) Lowe. He married Rose Lowry Oct. 25, 1964 at the First Christian Church of Canton. She survives along with two children, Terri (Keith) Pierson and Tim (Kristi) Lowe; eight grandchildren, Heather (Allen) Cornett, Hannah Pierson, Heidi (Joel) Schluensen, Haven Pierson, Tyler Lowe, Tanner Lowe, Makayla Lowe; two sisters, Linda (Marvin) Vaughn, and Joyce Leezer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert "Bob" Lowe; and one grandchild and Heith Pierson.
Richard worked at Caterpillar for 30 years retiring in 1997. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Havana. Richard was a St. Louis Cardinals fan and also enjoyed Bradley Basketball. He also enjoyed feeding his birds, drinking coffee with his coffee buddies and he loved his kids and his wife and his faithful companion, Sadie.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Pastor Mike Henson officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the memorial home. Face masks and social distancing will be required. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church in Havana.
