Karen Lynn Haynie of Royersford, PA, went to heaven after spending the day with her family on Wednesday, April 22, 2020.

Karen was born October 17, 1950 in Glendale, California to Troy & Irene Maltby.

A 1968 graduate of Southeast High School in Wichita, Kansas, Karen attended business school and lent her talents for more than three decades to inventory control in the HVAC industry. She retired from Peirce-Phelps, Inc. in 2019.

A tireless and loving advocate for unwanted cats, Karen was a foster mom, rescuer, and adoption volunteer for many furry souls. She most enjoyed spending time with her three children and their families. Karen traveled to Asia, to the Saratoga race track, Niagara Falls and Massachusetts for whale watching, but some of her favorite vacations were spent in Mexico where she would oil paint in the jungle, have a shot of tequila for breakfast and do an occasional cannonball into the pool.

She is survived in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Stan Wilcox of Kennett Square, PA; her son, Carey Colson, of Simsbury, CT; and daughter, Erika Haynie, of Schwenksville, PA. She is also survived by grandchildren Chloe O'Neill, Caleb, Loren and Elsie Colson.

A Memorial Service and burial will be held at a later date in Unionville, PA.

Memorials in Karen's honor may be sent to Cat Crew, PO Box 33, Cedars, PA 19423, 610-825-9471. CatCrew.org
