Mr. Jerry Michael Gray, Sr., age 69 of Barbourville, was born in Flat Lick, KY on October 18, 1951 to the Lewis Gray, Sr. and Mayo Hobbs Gray and departed this life on March 18, 2021 in the Hazard ARH Hospital.

He was a member of Old Flat Lick Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, working in the coal mines, watching John Wayne Westerns, listening to Southern Rock and George Strait, and time with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, a son: Mark Anthony Gray; 2 brothers-in-law: Warren Scoville and Dale Riggs; and a niece: Preshus Riggs preceded him in death.

Jerry is survived by his fiancé: Mary Gambrel of Barbourville; 3 sons: Michael Lynn Gray of Pineville, Jerry Gray and wife Mary of Artemus, and Jason Gray of Heidrick; 2 daughters: Alice Gray of Heidrick, and Jennifer Gambrel of Corbin; a stepson: Larry Gambrel of Barbourville; a stepdaughter: Sue Ellen Brown and husband Robert of Barbourville; 3 sisters: Nancy Riggs of Boone Heights, Anna Scoville of London, and Vickie Shaffer and husband David of Staffordsville, KY; 2 brothers: Gary L Gray and Lewis Gray and wife Tina all of Flat Lick; 21 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral Services for Mr. Jerry Gray, Sr. will be conducted in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Donnie Mills and Rev. Glen Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Hammons Cemetery with Dereck Gray, Brandon Gray, Jeremy Gray, Caleb Gray, Austin Gray, Jerry Gray, and Jacob Gray serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Friends may call at the Barbourville Funeral Home on Saturday Evening from 6 to 9 P.M., and Sunday from 11A.M. to the funeral hour at 2. Due to the continuing COVID-19 Pandemic, and new regulations from our Governor on gatherings all who attend will be required to wear face mask and practice Social Distancing.
