James Franklin “Jim” Sheffer, 72, of Judsonia, died Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at his home. He was born September 4, 1948 in Searcy a son of the late Carl and Lula (Fletcher) Sheffer. Jim received a Batchelors Degree in Sociology from Oklahoma State University and was a very talented painter and a published writer. He enjoyed writing poetry, flower and vegetable gardening and was an avid bridge player.
He is survived by his sister, Carl Lou (Sheffer) Myers (Don); nieces, Carla Strait (Stan) and Delia Huff (Mike); nephew, Jeff Myers (Carolyn); great-nieces and nephews, Katie Strait, Kevin Strait (Katy), Joshua Huff, Kristen Shelton (Aaron), Kara Huff, Kathryn Huff, Trevor Myers and Brielle Myers; great-great niece, Elena Shelton.
Graveside services will be held Monday, March 22, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at the Shady Grove Cemetery with Bro. Gary Cox officiating. Mr. Sheffer will lie in state at the funeral home on Monday from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
