Geraldine Hasty Williams, 85, passed away Thursday March 18, 2021. She was born April 7, 1935 in Union County, NC daughter of the late Kenneth Grady & Ora Smith Hasty. She is also preceded in death by four brothers: Alvin Hasty, Calvin Hasty, Herbert Hasty, and Wallace Hasty, and one sister Bernice Baucom.

Some of her favorite times were cooking, and having her family home to celebrate holidays, birthdays or any special occasions. She loved her daughters, sons-in-law, grand boys, and the “Little Girls” so much. There wasn’t a flower or bulb she didn’t love and enjoy. The flowers in her daughters’ yards were handed down from her and her mother. She loved all animals, but most especially her “Kitties” She was so talented with her hands, she crocheted, quilted, canned, and froze vegetables from their garden. She drew every house plan of every house they lived in once they started a family. She loved her church and church families at Carmel Baptist Church & Austin Grove Baptist Church. She also worked for Lance, Inc. for thirty years.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, March 21, 2021 in Gordon Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 PM until 2:45 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112. Those in attendance to please follow the mask mandate or some type of face covering.

Geraldine is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Morris Caldwell Williams, three daughters: Teresa Thomas (Max, Jr.), Robin Simpson (Vann), and Kimberly Blankenship (Larry), two grandsons: Max Thomas, III and Cam Thomas, two great granddaughters:
Audrey Thomas & Maeve Thomas.
