Roxie J. Jobes

Roxie Jane Jobes, 75, of Washington, W.Va., formerly of Fourth Avenue, Parkersburg, passed away Aug. 15, 2006, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Wood County on March 20, 1931, a daughter of the late Lovie C. Burdette and Thelma Whitlatch Burdette Grim. Roxie was a member of Lightner Memorial Church in Edgelawn, south Parkersburg, and had worked as a nurse at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

She is survived by six daughters, Sandra Sealey of Belpre, Mary and Douglas Anderson of Coolville, Ohio, Nancy and Mark Riffle of Newark, Ohio, Jennie and Bob McFee of Elizabeth, Sheila and Gary Fleak of Washington, W.Va. and Brenda Dotson of Walker; one son, Charles and Nancy Buskirk of Vincent, Ohio; one daughter-in-law, Patricia Buskirk of Parkersburg; one sister, Mollie Powell of Elizabeth; 21 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, John Ray Buskirk; second husband, Paul J. McPeek; third husband, Cleland Jobes; one son, Michael Buskirk; one great-grandchild, Alex Dornick; one brother, Virgil Burdette; one sister, Ethel Monroe; and a son-in-law, Brad Dotson.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Lightner Memorial Church with Pastor Tim Henson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. today at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, and one hour before services Friday at the church.
