It is with deep sadness that we share with you that Steve Songster passed away on March 14, 2021.

Born September 19, 1954 in Hastings, NE to Phyllis June Songster (Stone) and Harry Jr Songster.

He graduated from Hastings Senior High and went on to study electronics at Southeast Community College. He was a former Avionics Technician for the US Air Force from 1974-1977, worked at Lester Electrical for 10 years then was proud to be an engineer with the State of Nebraska – Department of Corrections for the rest of his working career. He finally retired in July of 2020.

He is survived by his wife Susan, daughters Tessa (Marcus) Boesiger, Tara (Colin) Miles, step-son Eric (Tiffany) Jones, and step-daughter Amy (Christopher) Pester, 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and his younger sister Debra Boyer.

He is preceded in death by his brothers Mike and Dave and his parents Harry and Phyllis.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He had a kind heart and was full of wit. He will be dearly missed.

Plans for a Celebration of Life will be made at a later time.
