John Harlan Ayers, 70, born November 30, 1950 in Coral Gables, FL to John and Helen Ayers, passed away March 16, 2021. Mr. Ayers was a precocious organist. Once his talent became evident, the Ayers encouraged him to study with a local teacher, Diane Bish. He had the privilege of traveling the world experiencing, playing, and learning everything he could about organs. In 1973, he met the love of his life, Connie, while directing a choir in Norwich, CT. They had three children, whom became the center of his world.
Survivors include: wife Connie Ayers of Brooksville, FL; son Jonathan Ayers Jordan (Patrick) of Winter Garden, FL, daughters Christine Ayers and Tiffany Ayers of Wesley Chapel, FL. When Mr Ayers married Connie, he gained the siblings he never had, Wayne Weicht (Angela) of Wesley Chapel, FL, Linda Ploof (Brian) of Preston, CT, and was preceded in death by John Weicht of New Haven, CT. He also had many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at the St. John’s Episcopal Church in Brooksville, FL. The interment followed at the Brooksville City Cemetery following the church service.
