Joel Sidney Gordon was born March 24, 1929 in Jackson, MS and passed away Feb 23, 2021 in McKinney, Tx.

Joel was a loving, beloved father, brother, uncle and grandfather. He was a very giving person with a kind spirit and gentle soul. Joel loved spending time with his family, especially his 3 Grandchildren. Not only was he kind to people, but he also loved animals. Hunting, Fishing and Camping were some of his favorite past times. He was a proud Marine and Korean Veteran who served his country from to August 6th 1948 to August 1st 1952. Holding the rank of Sergeant since May 21, 1951 until his honorable discharge. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical workers Union local #59 for 68 years. We love him and he will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Robert Stanton Gordon of Florence MS; Mother, Nell Pridgen Gordon of Dallas Texas; Brother, Edward Stanton Gordon of Dallas Tx; and Twin Brother, Joseph William Gordon of Rowlett.

Survived by Son, Kipp Butler and wife Tina Butler; Grandchildren, Grayson, Lleyton and Liza Butler of McKinney Texas; Niece, Brenda Gordon of Dallas Texas; and numerous Cousins in Mississippi, Virginia and Plano, Texas.

Service will be held on Friday March 19th , 2021 at 10:00 AM at Restland Memorial Park in the Highlands Garden section.
