Sophie Dorthea Zinsel Miller passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the age of 93 years. Beloved wife of the late Henry Ernest Miller, Sr. after 64 years of marriage. Adored mother of Stephanie Miller DeVoe, Sophie Miller Scholvin, Henry E. Miller, Jr. and the late Franciska Miller DeSadier. Mother-in-law of Debbie Miller and the late John E. Scholvin, Sr. Devoted grandmother of Robert DeSadier, Jr., Tracey DeVoe, John E. "Jay" Scholvin, Jr., Matthew Scholvin, Trey Miller and Kathleen Miller Sumrall. Proud great-grandmother of Sarah and Anna Lea DeSadier, Jamie and Kassie Bullock, Jenna and Jaclyn Scholvin and John Scholvin III, Brandon and Jordan Magee and Henry and Maxwell Miller. Loving great-great-grand-mother of Peyton and Alexa Magee. Daughter of the late Florence Hirsch and John F. Zinsel, Sr. Sister of the late Eloria Blades, Astarita Laporte, Florence Glatt and John F. Zinsel, Jr. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mrs. Miller was born November 25, 1917 in New Orleans, Louisiana and was a resident of Harahan, Louisiana for the past 63 years, where she showed her love for her family through her cooking and homemaking. She loved to travel, enjoyed camping, was a charter member and past president of the MM13 Social Club and was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
