“Cecil M. South, 83, R.R. 4, Veedersburg, died at 4:19 p.m. July 9, 1992, at United Samaritans Medical Center, Logan Campus, Danville, Illinois. He was born at Argos, January 13, 1909, the son of Tony and Delpha Bradford South. He married Mary Houk Pensinger, at Russellville, May 13, 1939. She survives.

He was formerly from Brazil and lived in this area for approximately three years. He had worked for Giffel Body Manufacturing of Terre Haute as manager. His hobby was woodworking. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon), at Williamsport.

Surviving, besides the wife, are: a daughter, Mrs. Anna Marie Beaman, Terre Haute; three sons, Larry E. (Rachel) Pensinger, Avon; David L. (Colleen) South, Veedersburg; Duane (Nancy) South, Marshall; two sisters, Marcelle (Harold) Bowen, LaPorte; Olive Amonies, Plymouth; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and one grandson.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the church with President Bohn, President Sprague, Elder Strait and Elder Royer officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington.
