Robert R. Small 78, of Utica and formerly of Whitesboro passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 13 2021 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center.
He was born on November 1, 1942 in Worcester, MA a son of the late Leo and Irene (Dupuis) Small. After graduation from high school he served his country with honor in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1962 to 1966. He was stationed at Griffis Air Force Base and this is where he met his now wife Janet.
On December 31, 1969 in Rome, NY he was united in marriage to Janet Trotz a blessed union of over 51 years filled with much love and mutual devotion.
Mr. Small was employed as a Production Coordinator for the ARC of Oneida Count, retiring after many years of dedicated service.
During his free time, he enjoyed family vacations in Ocean City, MD., also vacationing in Aruba with his sister Lorraine and brother-in-law Tom. He loved NASCAR, boxing, riding his Harley, boating, sports cars and auto body repair.
He is survived by his wife Janet (Trotz) Small, a sister Lorraine (Thomas) Jones, his children, a son, Mike (Justine) Schebel, daughter-in-law, Tricia Small, a son Jason (Heather Thomas) Small. He also leaves his grandchildren, Michael Schebel, Robert (Laney) Small, Nicole (Shane Mulligan) Small, Jake Small, Julia Small, and Alexis Small, also a great grandchild, Liam Mulligan. He was predeceased by a son Mark Small.
