Faye Williams was born to Charles Raymond McNerlin and Gertie Morris McNerlin on March 15, 1934 in Logan, Oklahoma and went to her Heavenly home on March 11, 2021 at the age of 86.

She attended and graduated from Balko, Oklahoma High School in May of 1952. She was a member of the Ladies’ Basketball Team and continued her love for basketball after graduation. On June 8, 1952 she married Gordon Duane Williams in Balko, Oklahoma.

Upon moving to Hobbs, New Mexico from Liberal, Kansas in 1965, the family became members of Taylor Memorial Baptist Church where she faithfully attended and served.  Faye was always ready and willing to provide and deliver meals to anyone in need and helped prepare and serve meals to families on the day of funerals.

She was a gifted quilter and painter.  With her painting talents and Duane’s woodworking talents, they made many beautiful and treasured pieces.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Duane.

She is survived by her brother R.C. McNerlin and wife Karen Sue of Argonia, KS, sister-in-law Shirley Williams of Roanoke, TX, son Gary Williams & wife Sherry of Comanche, OK, daughter Karen Good & husband Kevin of Midland, TX and daughter Raema Williams of Cincinnati, OH.  She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; Amy DeLong & husband Bryan of New Braunfels, TX, Alicia Kim Whatley & husband Jeff of Wichita Falls, TX, Jonathan Davis of Tucson, AZ, Krista Timmons of Wichita Falls, TX, Jessica Davis of Seattle, WA, Scott Bryant & wife Courtney of Conway, AR and Sarah Partain & husband Barry of Georgetown, TX along with 6 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) or to the charity of your choice.

The family would like to extend our sincere gratitude and deepest thanks for the love and care she received from the wonderful staff at Landmark Desert Gardens, especially their beloved Shannon, over the last 3 years. Knowing that she was in such loving hands made us all at ease.
