Raymond "Butch" Edward Taylor, 84, of Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at his residence. He was born to his late parents, Clarence and Fairrell Taylor on October 25, 1936 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. He attended St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Iowa. Butch was proud of his service in the United States Navy, where he served for nearly 10 years. Raymond retired from being a Pipe Welder with Plumbers and Steam Fitters Local 106. He loved fishing, gardening, and enjoyed working in his workshop. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Virginia Cormier Taylor; two sons, Stephen Taylor (Lisa), Stuart Taylor (Adrienne), both of Westlake; Deanna Treadway (Nick) of Crowley, Tammy Arsement (Cory) of Iowa; ten grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.

Butch is preceded in death by his brother, Robert G. Taylor.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Lake Charles on Friday, March 19, 2021, at 12:00pm, with Rev. Anthony Fontenot officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles on Thursday, March 18, 2021, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm, with a Rosary at 6:00pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Friday, from 9:00am until the procession to the church. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
