Johnny Russell Holder, age 93, of Stoutsville, MO, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021, near his home.
Johnny was born on July 12, 1928, in Shelby County, MO, the son of Frank and Bessie (LeGrand) Holder. He was united in marriage to Florene Embree on September 3, 1945 in Olathe, KS. Johnny worked as a farmer and a truck driver dispatcher. He was baptized at the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church near Atlanta, MO in 1974. He later became a member of the Stoutsville Baptist Church and served as a deacon. He enjoyed tinkering with small engines and fishing. He especially enjoyed visiting with others and loved spending time with his family.
Johnny is survived by his three sons, Russell Holder and wife Linda of Macon, MO, Samuel Holder and wife Lisa of Moberly, MO, and Wayne Holder and wife Barbara of Macon, MO; one daughter, Lisa Pruitt and husband Jamie of Tulsa, OK; one son-in-law, Donald Turner of Stoutsville, MO; 12 grandchildren, Robert Turner (Beth), Roy Turner (Candice), Leanne Holder, Jennifer Nuhn, Jacque Steyer (Adam), Charles Holder, Charity Newberry, Rachael Twyman (Dillon), Daniel Holder (Erin), Alan Holder, Jon Castleberry (Jenny), and Caleb Pruitt; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Florene on August 15, 2012; one daughter, Wanda Mae Turner; one sister, Frankie Mae Richardson; and two brothers, George Holder and infant Edward Holder.
Funeral services will be 2 pm, Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Clarence, MO with Pastor Jason Fleener officiating, followed by the burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, north of Madison, MO. A visitation will precede the service starting at 1pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Monroe County Nutrition Center or the Oak Grove Cemetery.
