She was born in Esperance to Beatrice (Gidley) and Walter Hunter.
Irene lived in Esperance until moving to the Rulison Honey Farm following her marriage to John B. Rulison.
Irene was the graduate of Providence Bible Institute in Providence, Rhode Island.
Irene was a Bible teacher for Eastern New York Bible Conference.
She was presently a member of Faith Baptist Church in Scotia, NY.
Irene was a partner to John on the farm and raised four remarkable children with him. She spent countless hours volunteering.
She was active in Faith Bible Church in Carlisle NY, teaching Sunday school, Sunday school superintendent, church treasurer and a myriad of other activities.
Irene was a sidekick to John and managed all of the business finances. Her joy was teaching children about Jesus. She loved her family and children and will be dearly missed by all of us.
Besides her parents, Irene was predeceased by her husband John, infant David John Rulison, her sister Shirley Button, brother-in-law Richard Button, and sister-in-law Olga "Dolly" Hunter.
She is survived by her brother James Hunter of Scotia NY, her children Gary Rulison of Amsterdam NY, Tom (Christine) Rulison of Esperance NY, Susan (Gary) Kuzmin of Plano TX, Nancy (Murray) Mayfield of Greenville NY, fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Irene also leaves behind her dear friend and caregiver Eve Black who enabled Irene to live independently until shortly before her death.
