Terry Lee Hayden, age 79 of Parsons, passed away on March 16, 2021 at his home.

Terry was born at LCMC Hospital in Parsons, KS on June 17, 1941 to Charles Hayden and Mary Elizabeth (Black) Hayden.

He graduated from Labette County Community High School with the Class of 1959. He later attended Pittsburg State University where he received a degree in welding, which afforded him the opportunity to work throughout the county repairing farm equipment and box cars at the rail shop until he retired at the age of 75. He was a member of Farm Bureau, and regularly attended the Western Way Cowboy Church and Center Bethel Union Church. He spent his free time woodworking, tinkering, and weight lifting and exercising.

He was united in marriage with Velma (Nash) Hayden in Faulkner, KS on June 30, 1974. She preceded him in death on May 2, 2016.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Elizabeth Hayden.
Survivors include his three daughters, Crystal Kenworthy (husband, Todd) of Claremore, OK, Teresa Jones (husband, Kevin) of Mound Valley, KS, and Katie Hayden of Parsons, KS; and nine grandchildren, Shyanne Jones, Cloey Jones, Markel Kenworthy, Jacob Kenworthy, Brody Jones, Niah Almonacid-Hayden, Makayla Jones, Franco Almonacid-Hayden, and Laz Almonacid-Hayden.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, March 19, 2021 at Derfelt Funeral Home of Oswego. Pastors Randy Blackwell and Les Green will officiate. Burial will follow at the Oswego Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 5-6:00 pm at Derfelt Funeral Home of Oswego.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Western Way Cowboy Church in care of the funeral home
