He was one of three children born to Alva Nichols and Tommie Credeur. He was born in Shreveport, LA on August 28, 1962.

He grew up in Frierson, LA and graduated from DeSoto High School. He enjoyed the great outdoors, you would often find him hunting or wetting his lure in the nearest fishing hole, his favorite being Toledo Bend with his lifelong friend, Jay Baker. He enjoyed invoking laughter with the many pranks he would play on friends and family.

He was a proud father to his son, Matthew, he enjoyed spending time with him. Family was important to him and had he had a big heart, one that grew even more when his grandchildren were born.

He was welcomed into Heaven by; his father Alva Nichols; mother, Tommie Credeur; his brothers, Rodney Earl Nichols and Alva Wayne Nichols; a niece Regina Nichols.

Those left to cherish his memory; his son Matthew Lynn Nichols and fiancé Samantha Boudreaux; his fiancé, Kathy Morvan; his grandchildren, Everleigh, Paisley, Wacey, and Archie; a nephew, Brandon (Jeannie) Nichols; his sister in-laws, Susan Nichols and Bonnie Nichols; extended cousins and family.
