James Willis Sarvis, 70, died July 30, 2006, at his home in Colorado Springs following a long illness. Mr. Sarvis was born May 16, 1936 in Conway, SC to James Allen and Beulah Mae (Ammons) Sarvis who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 49 years.
He is preceded in death by a son Timothy, four sisters Odessa Helton, Dorothy Baliles, Elsie Pennington, Betty Dale and two brothers Larry and Oliver D. Sarvis. Mr. Sarvis served time in the U.S. Army and did a tour in Korea in 1955. He was transferred to Fort Carson in 1956. He met his wife at Skateland roller skating rink October 1956 and were married Feb. 10, 1957. Mr. Sarvis was a carpet cleaner since 1959. He worked for Cleaver Carpet Cleaning Company for 26 years then for DoubleTree World Arena Hotel until he retired in 2004. Cremation will be at Spartan Services 955 S. Union Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80910. Mr. Sarvis requested no services. Memorial contributions and cards may be sent to his family at 2415 Monterey Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80910. Mr. Sarvis was under the care of Pikes Peak Hospice. Donations may also be sent in his name to Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation, 825 E. Pikes Peak Avenue, Suite 600, Colorado Springs, CO 80903-3624
