Roger Ralph Stevens of Vernon, beloved father, grandfather; brother and uncle passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at home. Roger was born on January 26, 1949 in Hartford, son of the late Ralph and Lottie (Pawlicki). He attended local schools and graduated from South Windsor High School. Roger was a proud veteran serving as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne of the US. Army as a mechanical Specialist. He worked a maintenance supervisor for over 27 years for the United States Postal Service, at the Hartford and Bradley branches. He attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Vernon.

Roger leaves behind his wife Linda (Piader), his three children, Brooke and her son Nicholas of Vernon, David of South Windsor and Lyndsey and her partner, Alex Welch, of Avon, CO. his sister Ellen Brannigan of Seal Beach, CA. and several cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to his parents, Roger was predeceased by his son Mark and brother Ronald.

Visiting hours are at Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road in Vernon on Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 10-11 am. A graveside service with Military Honors will follow at 11:30 am in Grove Hill Cemetery in Vernon. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or to a Veteran’s or cancer organization of your choosing.
