Frances Christine (Turner) Morgan, 88 of Effingham, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Aperion Care in St. Elmo.

Frances was born May 10th, 1932 in Dossville, MS, the daughter of the late Clyde A. and Girlie (Sosebee) Turner. Frances had a lifelong love of country, bluegrass, and gospel music, and could be found many evenings performing with her fellow musicians at a local church, nursing home, or American Legion. In her later years, she developed a passion for BINGO, and enjoyed travelling the U.S. searching for that next big jackpot. She also had a special affinity for all of the grand-dogs that graced her life at one point or another.

Frances is survived by her sons, Bill (Katherine) McKnight of Indianapolis, IN, and Keith McKnight of Fairfield, IL; grandchildren Melanie Joudy of Brookfield, CT, Brian Keesler of Effingham, Mariah Kristine Bissey of Shumway, Eric McKnight of Mt. Vernon, IN, Justin McKnight of Fairfield, Patience McKnight of Fairfield, Emily McKnight of Washington, D.C., and Caroline McKnight of Washington, D.C.; great-grandchildren Rachel and Katelyn Joudy of Brookfield, CT; siblings Faye Raffield of Carthage, MS, Clyde Turner of Rogers, AR, and Colin Turner of Cecil, AR. She is also survived my numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son James Lee McKnight; daughter Patricia Ann McKnight; brothers Dr. William Turner, Major Turner, Lavon Turner, and Roger Turner; sisters Gladys Pearl Schnell, Bonnie Grace Muck, and Jo Ann McMillan.

As per Frances’ wishes, Cremation Rites will be accorded. There are no public services scheduled at this time.
