A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Iota for Ella Mae Miller, 93, who died Monday, March 15, 2021 at 7 a.m. at Ochsner Acadia General Hospital in Crowley.
Fr. Jude Thierry, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Mrs. Miller is survived by one daughter, Cindy Miller Abshire and her husband Danny of Iota; three sons, Ronnie Miller and his wife Bobbie of Mowata, Reggie Miller and his wife Mary Beth of Iota, Pat Miller and his wife Debbie of Crowley; 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ruby Stoute of Iowa, Bernice Martin of Edgerly, Rena Spearing of Shreveport, and Virginia Taylor of Iowa; two brothers, Silton Cormier of Scott and Gus Cormier of Sulphur.
She was preceded in death by her husband, JD Miller; her parents, Ovey and Agnes Daigle Cormier; her step-father, Leon Ardoin; one infant granddaughter, Elizabeth Abshire; one great-grandson, Cesar Garcia; one sister, Elta Fruge; five brothers, Elton, Calvin, Cary, Leonard (L.G.), and Lee Lewis.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. Miller’s five grandsons, Blaine Miller, Brent Miller, Jason Miller, Chad Abshire, Hunter Miller, and great-grandson, Austin Domino. Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandsons, Ethan Christman and Hayden Christman.
