Barbara A. Ellis, 78, of Southport, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, surrounded by her family and friends.
Barbara loved her family dearly and loved attending church. She especially loved spending time with her granddaughter and looked forward to Sunday, “Family Day,” every week. She also loved cooking for her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, R.V. and Blondell Kyser; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev. H.L. and Grace Ellis.
Left to treasure Barbara’s memory is her husband of 60 years, Lynn N. Ellis; daughter, Amy Ellis; son, Nick Ellis (Amy); granddaughter, Lindsey Ellis; her friends who were like sisters and brother to her, Joann Ellis, Walter Ellis and Ruth Barfield; a special uncle, Archie Creamer; the Riley family, including George Riley (Wadonna), Herman Riley (Crystal), Rev. Nixon Riley (Peggy), Johnie Porter (Freddy, Rev. Linda Porter (Rev. Jimmy) and first cousin, Danny Pippin (Libbie).
A special thank you is extended to Dr. Adhal and the Emerald coast Hospice staff, as well as caretaker Clara Roland.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. at Sand Hills Assembly of God, with Pastor Nixon Miller officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the church. Interment will follow at Southport Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers include Winford Kelly, Tony Powell, Lil’ Bobby Kelly, Donnell Finley, Vance Nowell, and Roger Brannon.
