NOTES: Married Thomas F. Landers. *From an unnamed and undated article located in the Lamar County Genealogical Society Library, in the Taylor Collection, Box L. 'Mrs. Tom Landers, 82, of 580 3rd SW, a lifelong resident of Lamar County, died Monday, July 9, 1973 in A Sulphur Springs hospital. Funeral services were held Wednesday in Leverett and Steele Memorial Chapel with Rev. John Sullivan of Sulphur Springs officiating. Burial was made in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Georgia Mathis Landers was born March 26, 1891, in Powderly, a daughter of George and Martha Burrough Mathis. She married Tom Landers in 1907 in Paris, his death occurring Dec. 9, 1955. She and her husband operated a grocery store in the old Hinckley community, north of Paris for 35 years. Mr.Tom Landers was a member of the Methodist Church at Caviness. Survivors include two sons, Claude Landers of Paris and L.C. (Pete) Landers of Vernon; two daughters, Mrs. J.P. Lewis of Sulphur Springs and Mrs. B.P. Arthur of Crystal City; two sisters, Mrs. E.E. Raing [sic] of Dallas and Mrs. Virginia Armstrong of San Antonio; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.'
