Deacon Odell Jones was born on November 27, 1926 to Mr. Sam Jones and Mrs. Lillie Hood Jones in Marion County, Florida.
Mr. Jones received his formal education at Bethlehem School and Fessenden School in Ocala, Florida.
Mr. Odell accepted Christ as his savior at an early age and was united with Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Chairman of the Deacon Board, member of Trustee Board, Founder of Emergency Fund.
He enlisted into the United States Army on June 8, 1945 and was honorably discharged on November 27, 1946. He was a Mason and a member of the Dunnellon Lodge #114.
Mr. Odell Jones leaves to cherish his memories three son: Alfred (Priscilla) Jones, Alonzo and Marvelle Jones one daughter: Debra Jones-Hendrix; two siblings: Freddie (Karen) Jones and Jerlene Gainey, nine grandchildren, eighteen great grands, seven great great-grands, two brothers-in-laws, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
