THE PARIS NEWS, Jan. 11, 2002: 'Nan Marie Green, 80, of Powderly died at 9:14 a.m. Thursday, Jan, 10, 2002, in Paris. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, in Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. Burial will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Mrs. Green in Powderly. Mrs. Green was born July 22, 1921, in Broken Bow, Okla., to Thollie and Liza Clark Copeland. She married Joe E. Green on Nov. 4, 1939. He preceded her in death June 26, 2001. Mrs. Green worked for the North Lamar ISD at the Powderly School cafeteria. She was a member of the Powderly Baptist Church. Surviving are six children, Ray Green of Powderly, Melvin Green and wife, Barbara, of Idalou, Thomas Green and wife, Bonnie of Bagwell, Linda Eubanks and husband, Ron of Albuquerque, N.M., Becky Tipton and husband Tom of Huntington, Ark., and Dwayne Green of Dallas; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Pete Copeland of Paris. She was also preceded in death by a great-grandchild. Asked to serve as pallbearers are Steve Green, Mike Green, Danny Green, Kelvin Green, Jace Green, Chas McDowell, Jeremy McDowell, and T. J. Tipton.
