MADISON – Joe Wallace Pennington, 65, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, in the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation was 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Ridgeland and resumed at noon Wednesday at Twin Lakes Baptist Church.
Services were 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12 at the church with burial in Parkway Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Pennington was born on Jan. 22, 1940, in Decatur, the son of the late Artis Lee Pennington and Brooks Dee Cole Pennington. He attended Mississippi State University where he studied industrial arts.
A resident of Madison for 30 years, Mr. Pennington worked for Sperry Vickers Corporation in purchasing for 15 years. He then purchased J.C. General Store in Pocahontas. Mr. Pennington loved spending time with his many friends and especially fishing.
Mr. Pennington was an avid antique collector. He was a Mississippi State Bulldog fan and loved watching football.
Survivors include: wife, Cheri Helene Pennington of Madison; and two daughters, Sheila Brooks Pennington of Hattiesburg and Linda Lee Pennington of Madison.
