Services for Evalyn M. Parry, 88, Oskaloosa, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Barnett Funeral Home. Private burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.
Mrs. Parry died Friday, Dec. 18, 1998, at the Hickory Pointe Care Center, Oskaloosa.
She was born Sept. 10, 1910, in Colby, the daughter of Theo and Fredrica Laurent. She moved to Topeka in 1960 and then to Oskaloosa in 1993.
She had worked as a dental assistant in Oakley and was the manager of a hotel in Quinter for several years. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Topeka.
She married Frank J. Verhoeff in 1925. He died in 1956. She then married Tom S. Parry in September 1960. He died Jan. 17, 1972. She also was preceded in death by a son, Lee Verhoeff, in 1993, and a daughter, Evalyn Allen, in 1996.
Survivors include two daughters, Helen Nickels and Judith Dietz, Oskaloosa; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

There are two memorials for Evalyn, in different cemeteries. This is the actual gravesite. I checked with her sister and niece. Find A Grave No. 87817726 has no death date, and is a stone shared with her second husband.
