Robert Bruce Potter, 90, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, in Mankato.

Robert (Bob) was born on March 26, 1930, to Gordon and Agonia (Marti) Potter in Lisbon, North Dakota. He grew up on the family farm and after high school attended NDSU in Fargo. He graduated with a degree in electrical engineering. While living in Fargo he met Mabel Peterson and they were married on June 6, 1958. They had two children, Cheryl and Darrel, who died from muscular dystrophy in 1978. Bob and Mabel lived in Fargo until they moved to the Mankato area in 2013 to be near Cheryl and her family. They were faithful members of Valley Christian Church in Moorhead, Minnesota for over 50 years.

Bob enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, Sudoku puzzles, and watching Wheel-of-Fortune every night with Mabel. He was very handy and could fix almost anything. He always liked to have a project to work on and was always thinking of new ways to do things. Bob deeply loved his wife, his family, and his Lord.

Bob is survived by his wife, Mabel, of Mankato, his daughter, Cheryl (John) Kester of North Mankato, two granddaughters, Olivia Kester of Mankato, and Jade Kester of North Mankato, a sister-in-law, Dianne Potter of Spooner, Wisconsin, a niece, Gayle (Tony) Surdey of Trego, Wisconsin, a special nephew, Allan (Debbie) Potter, of Grafton, Ohio, and many great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Donald Potter, and his son Darrel.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Fargo, North Dakota. He will be laid to rest next to his son.
