BETSY RUTH (FOWLER) VAUGHN
1972 - 2007

Betsy (age 35) went to be with the Lord on October 24, 2007 after an almost 4 year courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born on April 27, 1972 in Pensacola, Florida.
She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Glenn Vaughn, and four beautiful children: Rachel (15), Lowell (13), Hannah (10) and Leanna (7); her dad, Marvin Fowler, Sr., brother, Marvin Fowler, Jr.; sister, Naomi (Robert) Gentry and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Fowler.
Betsy was a dedicated Christian, who loved God with all of her heart. She was a wonderful mother, wife and friend to all who knew her.
She was a member of Pensacola First Assembly of God, where her husband, the Rev. Glenn Vaughn, serves as Associate Pastor and Music Minister. She supported her husband in the ministry 110%. She was a perfect Pastor's wife. She served in several areas of ministry, even after her diagnosis with cancer in 2004. She had a beautiful voice and sang solos in the choir and also was very active in the Women's Ministries at the church. She was a servant. If there was work to be done in the church, she was there, whether it was kitchen duty, cleaning bathrooms, or yard work. She loved to serve. If there were two words to sum up her life, it would be faithful and loving. In the past 4 years of battling breast cancer, she missed very few church services. At one point, when going through the hardest chemotherapy and her immune system was so low that she could not be around crowds, she would wear a mask and sit in the balcony of the church. Her family and church were her life.
Pallbearers are Robert Gentry, John Vaughn, Douglas Vaughn, James Vaughn, Jerry Hahn, and Joel Coberly.
The family will receive friends at Pensacola First Assembly of God Church on Friday, October 26, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Pensacola First Assembly of God Church, 4301 Bayou Blvd., with Pastor Avon Fowler and the Rev. Ron Carnley officiating. Interment will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 100 Beverly Pkwy., is in charge of arrangements.
Betsy would like to give special thanks and love to her church family for all of their love and support and to all the Hospice workers for their loving care. She would also like to thank Dr. Inclan and the oncology staff at Sacred Heart Hospital. She thanks all of her family and friends for the love, prayers, and care they have given her. But, most especially, all of her love goes to her devoted husband, Glenn, and her 4 beautiful children who were by her side lovingly caring for her during her fight with cancer and through all of their life together.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of 16 years and her 4 loving children and all who knew her.
