Mrs. Lawrence was born on June 20, 1942, in Christian County, KY, the daughter of the late Pat and Mary Louise Coombs Fleming. She retired from Hopkinsville High School as a cafeteria manager after 37 years. Sarah was a member of Christian Height United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, James H. Fleming and her brother-n-law, O.L. Willis.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Edwin Lawrence of Hopkinsville; her daughter, Elwyn Jones of Hopkinsville; her son, Armond Lawrence and his wife Angela of Independence, KY; her sister, Patsy Willis of Hopkinsville; her sister-n-law, Dorothy Fleming of Hopkinsville; four granddaughters, Johanna Jones, Katie Kostrzebski and her husband Shane, Emilie Gilliam and her husband Cody and Natalie Jones and one great grandson, Colton Kostrzebski.
