Jerry Lee Eldridge of Antigo died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012 at Langlade Hospital under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice. He was 67 years old. He was born Sept. 17, 1944 in Antigo to Romeo and Pearl (Cline) Eldridge. He grew up in the Four Corners area of Langlade County, and graduated from White Lake High School. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1961-1966. He later attained his BA and MA degrees. He married Mary Townsend on May 9, 2010 in Sevierville, TN. She survives and resides in Antigo. Mr. Eldridge was employed as a mason for BAC Mason Union for 38 years, retiring in 2003. He enjoyed woodworking and building almost anything. He loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and riding 4-wheelers. Survivors, in addition to his wife and parents, include a daughter, Melaney Eldridge of Wausau; 2 sons, Paul (Carmen) of Pulaski, VA, and David (Marti) Eldridge of Antigo; 4 sisters, Beverly (Joe) Guithues of Antigo, Ruth (Jim) Brown of Pleasant Prairie, Darlene Balli of Kenosha, and Julaine (Mike) Messer of Antigo; 3 brothers, Bill (Cherie) Eldridge of Pearson, John (Linda) Eldridge of Ventura, CA, and Dale (Doreen) Eldridge of Pleasant Prairie; 6 grandchildren; 3 step-children; 14 step-grandchildren; and friends John and Cheryl Spencer. He was preceded in death by an infant brother Lyle Eldridge, nephew James Chism, and brother-in-law Noe Balli. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at Four Corners Assembly of God Church, with Rev. Marvin Kindle officiating. Military Honors will take place at the church immediately following the service, with Anderson Sather American Legion Post #524 of White Lake conducting. Visitation will take place 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. A second visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Monday at church. Burial will follow the service at Elmwood Cemetery.
