After an illness for several years, W. A. Johnson, a former resident of Wabasha died at the City hospital in St. Paul on Thursday, Oct. 5. The cause of death was heart trouble. Mr. Johnson was confined to bed the last three months. The remains will be brought to Wabasha and the funeral will be held Saturday afternoon with interment at Riverview cemetery.
Mr. Johnson was formerly engaged in business in Wabasha, where he was known as 'Husky' Johnson. He left this city about four years ago and since then resided in St. Paul. He was born at Westfield, Minn.[ed: incorrect, he was born in Westfield, Wisconsin], April 8, 1873[ed: incorrect, he was born in 1863]. In June, 1891 he was married at Nelson, Wis., to Minnie Anderson, who died a few years ago. The surviving sons and daughters are: Mrs. Peter Wagenbreth of Wabasha, Albert of North Dakota, Lyle of Manila, Philippine Islands, Earl, Bernice and Arthur of Wabasha and Margaret of St. Paul. Two brothers and two sisters, Henry Johnson of St. Paul and Charles Johnson of Minneapolis, Mrs. P. H. Keller of St. Paul, Mrs. J. Littelle[ed: the spelling should have been Littell] of Iowa also survvie[sic].--Wabasha Herald."
