Nov 23, 1947 - Mar 16, 2021
Marvin Green, of the Flatwoods community in Jonesville, VA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ March 16, 2021 with his loving family surrounding him.
Born on November 23, 1947, he was the son of the late Troy and Parrot Handshoe Green.
He married the love of his life, Shirley Hall, on June 26, 1966. He loved the Lord, life, family and making people laugh.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving grandchildren, Chelsie and Zachariah, and I’m sure he’s making them laugh and playing with them now; his brothers, Edgil, Bill, Clinton, Clayton and Ivan; sister, Gertrude.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hall Green; his children, James (Holly) Green, Kimberly “Kim” Green, Angela (Robert) Slone and Melissa Moore; grandchildren, Jessica (Josh), Elizabeth, Drew, Brooke, Joshua (Taylor), Christian (Dawn), Meagan (Darren), Mariah, Blair, Kayla, and Chasity; great-grandchildren, Emily, Ethan, Everet, Ellie Gwynn, Bryson, Canaan, Caylie, Ellie Grace, Gabriel and Mason; brothers, Roy (Mariam), Clarence and Ricky; sisters, Edna (Andy) Brown and Reeda (Edgar) Collins; many nieces, nephews and family and friends that will miss him but we truly believe our loss is Heaven’s gain.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 19th at Robinette Funeral Home in Jonesville, VA. A private funeral service will follow with Robert Slone and Earl Bolen officiating.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 20th at 1:00 p.m. in the Ewing-McClure Cemetery in Jonesville, VA. Those who wish may meet at the funeral home by 12:30 p.m. Saturday to travel in procession to the cemetery.
