THE PARIS MORNING NEWS, June 22, 1922: "Mrs. Mary Buster, a widow 68 years old, who had lived in Lamar county nearly all her life, died at 4 o'clock yesterday morning at the home of her son, J. W. (Wes) Buster, at Caviness. The funeral service was held yesterday evening at the Mount Tabor church and there was a large attendance. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. C. W. Kavanaugh of Chicota and Rev. S. S. Crain of West Paris.
She had been seriously ill and confined to bed the past three weeks, but had been in failing health about two years.

She was born September 15, 1853, in Yell County, Ark., and came to Lamar county when she was thirteen years old with her father, James Caviness, who located on Emberson prairie, he being one of the pioneer settlers of that part of the county and one of the most highly respected citizens of the community. He was known by everybody in that section as 'Uncle Jimmy' Caviness.

She was married to Daniel Buster in 1872 and was the mother of eight children, six daughters and two sons, five of whom are still living. The surviving children are J. W. and G. W. Buster of Caviness, Mrs. Peter Carter of Durant, Ok. Mrs. R. J. Haynes of Razon and Mrs. Walter Dodson of Los Angeles, Cal. She also leaves a brother, Redmond Caviness of Oklahoma City. She had lived in the community ever since she was a little girl, was known to everybody young and old and was held in great affection, being regarded as a splendid neighbor. She had been a member of the Methodist church ever since she was fourteen years old.

On the same stone with D. W. Buster. Buried next to Hugh C. Buster.
