Knoxville - Ruby Jean Henry Edwards, age 89 of Knoxville, joined her beloved husband in eternity March 10, 2021. She was a devoted wife to her childhood soulmate, Lamar, who preceded her by one year.
Jean was the matriarch of her family; a caring and loving person who never tired of supporting her siblings, children, neighbors and church community.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Emma Stair Henry of Knoxville; her sisters, Dorothy Henry Sawyer, Pearl Henry and Mary Henry Tarver; her brothers, Arnold Henry Junior, Earl Thomas Henry, James Connor Henry, Robert Lee Henry, William Guy Henry and Frederick Henry and her child, Darrell Eugene Edwards.
She is survived by her children; Michael L. Edwards and wife Kathy (Charleston, SC), Pamela E. Harrison and husband Kevin Winn (Bluffton, SC) and Melissa K. Edwards (Knoxville); grandchildren; Melinda W. Hunt and husband, Brian (Columbia, SC), Erin E. Pruitt and husband David (Greenville, SC), Lindsey E. Edwards (Kensington, MD), Michelle E. Burke and husband Bryan (Denver, CO), Peter E, Hogan (Charleston, SC), Katherine C. Hogan (Charleston, SC), William Gunter (Knoxville): Great grandchildren: Xan A. Hunt, Henry R. Pruitt, Elliot E. Pruitt, Anna D. Pruitt, Connor J. Burke and numerous dear friends, neighbors and members of her church family.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 18, 2021 4:00-6:00 pm at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville. Friends and Family will gather at Lynnhurst Cemetery, 2300 Adair Dr. Knoxville on Friday, March 19, 2021 for an 11:00 am Graveside Service. Pastor Kirby Ownby officiating.
