James attended New Mexico School for the Deaf in Santa Fé, NM.
James was caring, kind hearted, always willing to help others and he loved his children with all his heart.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Alfonso Vigil and Frances Vigil, sisters, Judy Vigil and Barbara Gallegos and brother, Elmer Vigil.
James is survived his children, Jennifer Bates and Angelo Vigil, both of Tucson, AZ, brothers, Richard Vigil and Henry Vigil, both of Guadalupita, NM, Herman Vigil of Mora, NM, Louie Vigil of Guadalupita, NM and Gene Vigil (Pauline) of Rainsville, NM, sisters, Volanda Vigil of Guadalupita, NM, Cathy Vigil (Oliver) of Las Vegas, NM and Geraldine Martínez (David) of Mora, NM, special friend, Leah Marie Correa of Tucson, AZ and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Mora, New Mexico.
