J. C. Petty, 67 of Thompson, Rte. 1, died at 2:15 p. m. Tuesday at Audrain Hospital. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Thursday at Arnold funeral home with the Rev. Jack Scott officiating. Burial will be in the Liberty Christian Church Cemetery near Thompson.
Son of James E. and Davie Barclay Petty, James C. Petty was born Oct. 1, 1900 in the Skinner community and had spent his entire life in Audrain County.
On Feb. 6, 1926, he was married to Miss Gertrude Slonaker, who survives at the home.
Mr. Petty was a member of the Liberty Christian Church.
Also surviving are a son, Donald, Rolla; three grand daughters; a brother, Otis of Moberly; and a sister Mrs. Grace Chatham, Detroit, Mich. One daughter preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o'clock tonight.
