Major League Baseball Player. Was signed mid season with the Boston Braves National League team from the Elmira, New York Babcocks in September 1922. Right handed, change up pitcher. He defeated the champion New York Giants two times in his first year with the Boston team. He was traded to the New York Giants for four players in 1928. He retired from baseball in 1931. He Served during WW2 with the US Navy. On D-Day, at Normandy, Ohmaha Beach, on LST 534 as a pharmacist mate, his boat after delivery of the units of soldiers, it was converted to an "ambulance vessel" which under enemy fire collected the wounded and the dead from the waters. Retired from the Veteran's Hospital in Bath NY. Elected to the Elmira Hall of fame in 1975.
