Funeral services for Nellie Faye Pigeon-Jackson will be held on Wednesday, March 17th, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Reed-Culver Chapel with Mr. Donald R. Nichols officiating. She will have a visitation on Tuesday, March 16th, 2021 from 1:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Reed-Culver Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest with her family at Pettit Cemetery in Keys, OK. Nellie Faye Pigeon-Jackson was born on February 14th, 1937 in Qualls, OK, the daughter of George L. and Mary Ann "Molly" (Young) Pigeon. She was raised with five brothers and three sisters, Willie, twins Leo and Leon, Lorene, Percy, Raymond, and twins Bonita and Juanita. She attended Pigeon School. She married Troy Jackson in 1953 and was a stay at home wife & homemaker. In 1955 she became a mother, Faye's children, grandchildren & Great Grandchildren were always her most important focus in her life. She poured out all of her efforts in life in being the best mother and grandmother she could be. Later when her children were in school she worked outside the home, she was a cook for the United Methodist Children Home, she was a seamstress at the sewing factory, and worked as a Certified Nurse's Aide in Tahlequah & Vian throughout the years. She made the most wonderful meals for her family like homemade chicken and dumplings, her New Years special, black eyed peas with cabbage and hog jowls, and her famous apple and cherry fried pies were simply the best! She did beautiful handmade quilts and loved to crochet pillows & bed spreads. We had Sunday gatherings at her house with immediate family members and neighbors. Once a year we had a family reunion & that was something she organized for many years and she looked forward to it to get to be with so much family together Family. She loved every holiday together with her family. Faye was always happy & had a calm spirit & it took a lot to get her upset. Her smile dominated her face and she always made the people around her happy. It didn't matter that her body was petite and frail, her heart was big and she never let her illnesses keep her from loving and wanting her to be with her family she so adored. A Christian by faith, she was a member of the Church of Christ. She was faithful to read her Bible daily and prayed without ceasing for the family and was known as a prayer warrior by her friends and neighbors. The Lord called this hard working daughter, mother and grandmother home from her many labors on Friday, March 12, 2021 in Tahlequah, OK, surrounded by those who knew and loved her. She was 84 years old and will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, George and Nanny Pigeon, and Joseph and Etta Magdalen (Green) Young, and her mother and father, George and Molly (Young) Pigeon. She is also preceded by her brothers, Leon and Percy Pigeon and her sisters, Bonita Thurman and Juanita Dunn, sister-in-law, Shirley Pigeon, and brother-in-law, Leon Matlock, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Those left to celebrate her life include her children, Troy Jackson and wife Carolyn of Tahlequah, Rocky Jackson and Kenny Jackson both of Keys, OK, and Michelle Marr of Keys, OK. Her brothers and sisters include Willie Pigeon of Burnt Cabin, OK, Leo Pigeon of Owasso, OK, Lorene Matlock of Bartlesville, OK, and Raymond Pigeon and wife Ruby of Vian, OK. She lives on in her eight grandchildren, Lee Jackson of Tahlequah, Tracie Vance and husband Steven of Tahlequah, Trisha Thomas and husband Anthony of Tahlequah, J.R. Jackson of Keys, OK, Dottie Moon and husband Arlis of Norman, OK, Billy Joe Marr of Ft. Smith, AR, Meagan Scoggins of Ft. Smith, AR, and Lane Scoggins of Welch, Ok. She has great grandchildren that include Brandon Jackson, Jackson Vance, Trae Keys, Maelee & Kaylynn Thomas, Bryson Jackson, Arlis Moon, Sunshine Marr, Paisley Hodges. Piper Crossno, Joshua, Eilen, Augustus & Hadley Scoggins as well as many other Family, and a host of friends and loved ones.
