Martha Sue Colbert Griffin, 82, of High Point, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at her son’s home. She was born on April 10, 1938 in High Point to the late Mary Colbert. She attended Potter’s Clay Baptist Church in High Point for many years and loved her Lord and Savior. She had a passion for collecting Angels, was a published Poet, and loved being a caregiver to her family. In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her husband, Horace Griffin; two children, Glenda Gail Griffin and Eddie Brian Griffin; and two sisters, “Tiny” Yates and Sylvia Tysinger.
Surviving are her two sons Jeff Griffin and wife Lisa of Lexington and Darrell Griffin of Lexington; one brother, Mickey Colbert of Boone; three grandchildren, Jennifer Boeyinga and husband Bruce of Lowgap, NC, Jamie Doty and husband Sid of Wallburg, and Adam Dodson of Lexington; eight great-grandchildren, Cody, Dekota, Garrett, Jayden, Savannah, Allie, Sydney, and Ethan; and one niece, Sherry Wade and husband Wayne of Sophia.
A funeral service will be held at Potter’s Clay Baptist Church in High Point on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 2:00 PM with Dr. Steve Jones officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the church. Burial will follow the service at Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point.
