Marie grew up in Quincy and moved to Weymouth in 1955, where is spent the rest of her life. Marie enjoy a long career of 30 years at GCS in Cambridge as a full charge bookkeeper. Marie enjoyed traveling, dancing, cooking, and most especially the wonderful times spent with her family and friends. Marie was a caring and fun-loving person to all who knew her. Marie's most joyous moments were spent with her family and especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching the beautiful sunsets from her deck. Marie will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved her.
Beloved wife of the late Gene A. Long. Loving mother of Michael Long and his wife, Jean, of Hanover, Jean Walsh and her husband, Ronald, of Abington, Victoria Keating of Weymouth, and Sharon Harrison and her husband, Stephen, of Weymouth. Sister of Anna Barnes of Marco Island, FL, Eleanor Pompeo of Weymouth, and the late John Tangherlini. Also survived by 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-7 p.m. at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home 40 Sea Street North Weymouth (off Route 3A - Bicknell Square). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9 a.m. on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass at St. John's Church, Quincy at 10 a.m. Burial in Old North Cemetery, Weymouth.
