Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at the age of 83 years.


Beloved husband of Audrey for 61 years. Dear father of Brad Rutz (Lynn DiFlorio), Kimberley Pearson (Tim). Dear Poppy of Adam Rutz, Ashley Rutz (Adam Rogers), Ali Bouwmeester (Tyler), Tanner Pearson (Meaghan Loveday). Great poppy "GP" to Tenley Bouwmeester. Larry is survived by his brother Frank Rutz (Marlene), sisters Janet Hunt and Julianne McKechnie (Ted); sister-in-law Frieda Rutz and brother-in-law Jim Nutter. Will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Verner and Lovina Rutz, sister Frances Nutter, brother Don Rutz and brother-in-law Charlie Hunt.
Larry is a longtime member of Historic St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He was a stone mason for 66 years and an active member of the Bricklayers Union, Local 12.
At Larry's request cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service to celebrate Larry's life will be held at the Historic St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 137 Queen Street South, Kitchener on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 11a.m., Rev. Larry Gajdos officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service in the church hall and interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. Condolences for the family and donations to Historic St. Paul's Lutheran Church, St. Mary's Hospital Foundation, Cardiac Intensive Care or The Lung Association of Waterloo Region may be arranged by contacting the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
