Gary Ronald King Sr, age 76, of Stockbridge, met Jesus face to face, on Thursday, March 11, 2021. He was born in Atlanta, GA to the late Elton Richard King Sr. and Linnie Mae King. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by all of his brother and two of his sisters. His six brothers: Richard with wife Margaret, Harold with wife Louise; George Donnie with wife Jackie; Jack with wife Polly; Bill with wife Margie; Marvin with wife Dixie. He had three sisters: Willene; Kathleen Gibson with husband Thomas Edison; and JoAnn Mcleod with husband Frank. JoAnn is his only living sibling. He also had many wonderful nieces and nephews, as well as lifelong friends he loved.

Gary loved his wife of 52 years and is survived by her, Brenda Johnson King. Gary and Brenda have two wonderful children and thirteen grandchildren that he was extremely proud of: Son -Ron and Angela King; Dustin, Devin, Dakota, Drake, Dalton, and Katherine; Daughter -Lori King Key and the late Devin Key, Cayla Key Birge and Travis Birge, Colt and soon-to-be Kylie Key, Cal, Cayt, and Carter.

Gary was honorably discharged from the Armed forces of the United States of America in the Army National Guard of Georgia. He retired from Lucent Technologies, Bell Labs Innovations in 1999 where he worked for over 25 years.

Gary was a faithful member of Peoples Baptist Church since 1975. Gary served in many roles for his Lord. He began the children’s church program, lead singing, sang in the choir, worked in Awana, Patch the Pirate, Teen Youth Group, taught Sunday school, served in the bus ministry, ran successful vacation bible schools, was on the deacon board, and school board to name a few. The most joyous moments are all the souls saved while under his teachings.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at Peoples Baptist Church. Interment will follow at College Park Cemetery.
