Gail Lee Smith, 70, of Westminster, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Carroll Hospital Center.

Born July 11, 1950 in Baltimore City, she was the cherished daughter of the late Jack Van and Verna May Frey Hudson. She was the loving wife of Robert Wayne Smith, her husband of 50 years.

Gail retired from Sandymount Elementary School after working many years as a school cafeteria worker. She was an active member of the Pleasant Valley Community Fire Department and the Ladies Auxiliary. Gail was a devoted member of St. Matthew’s United Church of Christ in Pleasant Valley. She loved the beach, playing bingo, camping, and making crafts and cards. Gail was fascinated watching dragonflies in her yard. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her husband are her children Jason A. Smith and wife Kathi of Hanover, PA, and Kara A. Garrison of Heidlersburg, PA; grandchildren Colby Smith, Naomi Smith, Adrianna Smith, and Miranda Garrison; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother Jack Hudson.

The family will welcome friends on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm, with a Pleasant Valley Community Fire Department and Auxiliary memorial service at 7:30 pm, at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 11am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
