While growing up he attended school in Yoakum, Texas. He was employed as a truck driver and supervisor in previous jobs, before retiring.
As a young child he attended church and became a member of the Union Lee Missionary Baptist Church. Clayton enjoyed barbecuing, watching football and family time.
Clayton died 24 days after his wife Mattie Ruth passed away n August 4, 2020. They were the parents of Alvin Ray, Clayton Jr, Clinton, Henry, Lawrence, Louise and Carolyn.
Burial- September 4, 2020 @ 1 pm.
