Funeral services for Seth Kirkland Young, 14, of Glencoe will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016 at North Glencoe Baptist Church. Seth passed away Aug. 13, 2016. Rev. J.L. Knight will officiate. Entombment will follow at Crestwood Mausoleum. Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home & Cemetery is in charge of the services.
Seth had been involved in sports since he was 3 years old. He always played baseball and basketball and was a member of the Glencoe Youth Athletic Association. He made the All Stars baseball team every year. He was on the Glencoe JV baseball and basketball teams for the past three years.
He just graduated from Glencoe Middle School and had started 9th grade at Glencoe High School. He loved fishing with his Dad and all his buddies.
He was very outgoing and never met a stranger. He had friends from everywhere and was very well loved and liked by all who knew him.
He is survived by his mother, Kari Young; father, Chad Young; brother, Nathan Young; grandparents, Sharon "Nana" and Jeremiah "Paw Paw" Kirkland, Randy "Paw Paw" and Regina "Maw Maw" Young; aunt, Tiffany "aunt Ty Ty" Young; and a host of extended family and loving friends.
Pallbearers will be his close friends.
The family will receive flowers or donations may be made to the Youth Department of the Safe Harbor Church of God.
The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday from 1 p.m. to time of service.
