Maria Santos E. De Martinez, 96, passed away to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX. Mrs. Martinez was born February 6, 1925 to Pablo & Maria Elizondo in Dr. Coss Nuevo Leon Mexico. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ramon Martinez; 3 brothers, Guadalupe Elizondo (Julia), Amador Elizondo (Elena), Armando Elizondo (Rosario); 3 sisters, Aurora Treviño (Luis), Pedra Elizondo & Enedina Gonzalez (Roberto). Mrs. Martinez is survived by 4 sons, Rene Martinez (Teresita), Horacio Martinez (Ermelinda), Javier Martinez (Alma), Americo Martinez (Elizabeth); 2 daughters, Alicia M. Kandle (Dee), Irma M. Gonzalez (Balde); 2 sisters, Maria De Jesus Cantu (Manuel+) & Maria Trinidad Salinas (Jesus+). Also surviving are 13 grandchildren & 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be to 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco – Chapel of The Angels with a 5:30 p.m. rosary, followed by a chapel service at 7:00 p.m. Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Highland Memorial Park. Celebrant will be Rev. Francisco Solis. Pallbearers will be Patrick Gonzalez, Trae Gonzalez, Alejandro Gonzalez, Dennis Martinez, Horacio Martinez, Jr., Daniel Martinez, Javier Martinez, Jr. & Ezequiel Martinez.
