Mr. Jackie Edwin Snyder
NOVEMBER 19, 1938 – MARCH 13, 2021
Jackie Edwin Snyder , 82, of Soddy Daisy went home to Heaven on Saturday, March 13, 2021.
He was born in Chattanooga, TN on November 19th, 1938.
He met and married the love of his life, Mildred Snyder, in 1957. They had been married for 62 years when she passed away, and not a single day went by that he didn’t speak about her or long to be with her again.
They have 2 children that they loved unconditionally Eric (Gigi) Snyder and Joan Lamar.
Jackie was a member of Hixson First Baptist Church for over 50 years.
He worked for Hixson Utility District for 50+ years. He loved the utility so much that after he retired, he went back and worked as a consultant.
He was a member of Lake Tansi RV Park for almost 25 years, and ran/coordinated the church services there every summer.
He loved spending as much time at Lake Tansi as he could with all of his family and friends. There aren’t enough words to describe him and our love for him. He was a loving man to everyone he met. He was always known for his hard work, gentle soul, and loving spirit. He would help anyone in need before doing for himself. He loved his family with his entire heart, but he loved God above all. We know the Lord is now saying “well done, my good and faithful servant.”
He is survived by his two children, Son, Eric (Gigi) Snyder of Clarksville TN, and Daughter Joan Lamar of Soddy Daisy, TN. Grandchildren: Jay (Victoria) Snyder, Ginger Miracle, Courtney (Ben) Neighbors, and Chandler Lamar. Great Grandchildren: Allie Miracle, Jaxson Neighbors, Elijah Snyder, Brycen Neighbors and Lyndsay Snyder. Brothers Wendell (Condra) Snyder and James Johnson, and sister Gloria Whalen. As well as many other loved ones.
Proceeded in death by wife Mildred Snyder. Infant son Quinton Snyder. Brother and sister.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, 3-16-21 at funeral home and from 11:00 am-12:00 pm Thursday, 3-18-21 at Hixson First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 12:00 pm Thursday at the Church with Dr. Steven Granger and Rev. Terry Shannon officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery at 1:30 pm Thursday.
