Rita G. Thompson, age 61, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away Friday, March 12, 2021 at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, KY.
Gail was born February 12, 1960 in Brandenburg, KY, daughter of the late L.J. Philpott and Alberta “Bertie” Marie Wilkins. Her brother, David Philpott also preceded her in death.
Gail assisted with the Meade County Special Olympics and loved U of L Cardinal Basketball. She loved wrestling, especially WWE Raw and Smackdown, and her favorite wrestler was Stone Cold Steve Austin.
She is survived by her husband, Steve Linden Thompson of Brandenburg; daughter, Rose Marie Thompson (Joseph) Renfrow of Brandenburg; sisters, Brenda (Neil) Morgan and Donna (Harold) Kirkwood both of Brandenburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 1:00 PM EDT from the Chapel of Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home with burial to follow in Garnettsville Cemetery.
